African Conference on Food Sovereignty, April 17-20, 2006, Maputo (Mozambique)
Several organizations which support family farming prepare a World Forum on food sovereignty in February 2007, in Mali (more info in the Agenda). In this context, Via Campesina through its members in Africa, organized an international conference on food sovereignty (prelude to the conference in Mali), where representatives of African farmers’ organizations and movements , of NGOs and others, were invited to take part from the 17th to the 20th of April, 2006, in Maputo, Mozambique. TheUnião Nacional de Camponeses (UNAC), which signed the Dakar Declaration, was very active in the preparation of this Maputo event.
