This year the topic of the congress was globalization as a factor of farmers’ impoverishment. The UAW (the female sector of the FWA) invited two women farmer of organizations also signatories of the Dakar Declaration and the Chapecó Call to discuss this question: Awa Diallo, Secretary-general of the Women College of the CNCR in Senegal and President of the National Directory of Women Raising Cattle (DINFEL); Graça Amorim, member of the General Coordination of the FETRAF/Brazil for agrarian reform. Mrs. Amorim having to participate in the FAO Conference on Agrarian Reform and Rural Development organised the same day in Porto Alegre, did her intervention by video conference.
