“PEASANT PROPOSALS: WHICH AGRICULTURE FOR THE NEPAD?”
On 25, 26, and 27 June 2003, the Network of Peasant Organizations and Producers in West African, ROPPA, gathered the ECOWAS member states peasant organizations to devise in unison on the NEPAD agricultural policy. Were present at the meeting, peasant leaders and high-level staff from the ministries of agriculture of ten West African countries: Benin, Burkina, Côte d’Ivoire, the Gambia, Guinea Bissau, Guinea Conakry, Mali, Niger, Senegal and Togo.
At the end of the workshop and a few days before the Maputo Summit of African Heads of States (Mozambique ), the representatives of the ROPPA platforms address to the ministers of agriculture and to the ECOWAS and African heads of states the following declaration
