Regional forum on Food Sovereignty, November 7-10, 2006, Niamey

The ROPPA remains convinced that the mobilization of Farmers’Organizations and other public and private agents is necessary so that the principles of Food Sovereignty be adopted, applied and defended in development policies and in bilateral and/or multilateraltrade agreements. There are the basic right of the Western African people to produce for themselves and by themselves the food which they need.

For this reason it organizes in connection with Farmers’ Organizations and the political authorities of Niger, a regional forum on Food Sovereignty in West Africa.
