The March of the Norwegian Farmers

Norwegian Farmers Union organised a march starting on the day of the Union’s annual meeting in June 2005, ending up at the WTO meeting in Geneva in July 2005 .

Norwegian farmers actually walked from the annual meeting in Troendelag (Mid-Norway) to Geneva, trying to influence the negotiations of WTO. In the last stages of their journey they were joined by other farmers’ unions.

Once in Geneva they drafted a Joint Declaration. 16 farmers’ organizations from all over the world have now signed this Joint Declaration. All togheter they represent over 84 millions members, most of them are farmers.
