The WTO July 2004 Framework Agreement - An overview of agriculture

In the end of July 2004, the General Council of the World Trade organisation adopted what is called a "framework agreement" to go on with the Doha round of negotiations. "Framework" means that no modalities were agreed upon, only guidelines to continue to negociate until the next mniisterial meeting in Hong Kong, December 2005. The Institute for Agriculture and Trade Policy sums up, in this document, the main outcomes of the negociation.
