About us

A network of over thirty family farmers' organizations and agricultural producers from the North as well as the South that wish for the implementation of mutually supportive agricultural and trade policies.. To this end, representatives of these organizations have signed a joint declaration in Dakar, in 2003 (hence the name of the website), in which they decide to act in concert and to try to coordinate their activities concerning trade negotiations, in particular those happening in the World Trade Organization (WTO). These family farmers from Africa, America, Asia and Europe are supported in this Dakar Process by other agents: non-governmental organizations from different sectors (development, environment), academics, consumers' associations. The website you are visiting is dedicated to this dialogue and information sharing between the signatories of the Dakar Declaration.
